Yes, you can travel with sports equipment. Sports equipment may be accepted as a personal item, carry‑on bag, or checked (hold) baggage, depending on its size and weight.
Personal Item
Sports equipment may be accepted as a personal item only if:
- It fully complies with the personal item size and weight limits measurements and weight of your Personal Item.
- No additional service fees apply.
⚠️ If the equipment exceeds personal item limits, it must be carried on or checked.
Carry‑On Baggage
Sports equipment may be brought as a carry‑on item only if:
- One (1) carry‑on item per customer is allowed, including sports equipment.
- The equipment complies with all carry‑on size and weight requirements, measurements and weight of your Carry-on Item.
- If applicable, standard carry‑on service fees apply.
⚠️ Sports equipment that exceeds carry‑on dimensions or weight cannot be brought into the cabin and must be checked.
Checked (Hold) Baggage
Sports equipment may be checked in as hold baggage, even if it is too large for carry‑on, as long as it meets checked baggage limits.
To be accepted as checked baggage:
- The equipment must be securely packed, preferably in a hard protective case.
- The total size must not exceed 366 linear cm
(length + width + height). - The weight must not exceed 32 kg per item.
- Any applicable service fees must be paid before acceptance.
- Once accepted, the equipment will be transported as checked baggage.
✅ If the sports equipment meets checked baggage size and weight limits, it is allowed to travel as checked baggage.
If your sports equipment does NOT fit within standard checked baggage size limits, it cannot be accepted as a regular checked bag.
However, it may still be transported as sports equipment, by paying the applicable sports equipment fee, provided that:
- The item is properly packed for safe transport
- The item meets maximum weight and handling limits
- The item is accepted under operational and safety requirements
The following items are considered sports equipment and may be transported, subject to size, weight, packing, and fee requirements:
- Golf equipment
- Fishing and diving equipment
- Non‑motorized, single‑seat bicycles (properly packed)
- Tires deflated
- Handlebars folded
- Pedals removed or loosened
- Adequate protection required
- Bowling equipment
- Skiing equipment
- Archery equipment
- Camping, hockey, or lacrosse equipment
- Kitesurfing or kiteboarding equipment
- Rackets (up to 2)
- Oars (up to 2)
- Parachutes
